Attorney (Insurance Defense)

Location: Hybrid, with limited time working each month in the Dallas Claim Litigation office at 900 Jackson Street, Dallas, Texas 75202; litigation may be handled across multiple Texas counties, including Houston County.

Salary: $165,000–$210,000 per year, plus potential yearly incentive pay with a 16% target and 24% maximum.

What you will do

• Handle litigation and other legal assignments according to Law Department guidelines.
• Own files and develop trial strategies throughout the litigation process.
• Prepare and summarize reports for legal proceedings.
• Attend trials, mediations, depositions, hearings, and other litigation events.
• Meet with clients and build professional relationships within local legal communities and with key stakeholders.

Requirements

• 5+ years of litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense, medical malpractice, personal injury, or workers’ compensation.
• Knowledge of local and state discovery rules, trial procedures, and applicable substantive law commensurate with experience.
• Trial, mediation, and deposition experience.
• Experience with file ownership and effective written and oral communication.
• Ability to work efficiently with cases in electronic form.
• Working knowledge of a Case Management system and a Document Storage system.
• J.D. from an A.B.A.-accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.
• Active Texas law license and good standing with the State Bar of Texas.
• Eligibility to lawfully work in the U.S. immediately; hirify.global does not sponsor U.S. work opportunities.
• hirify.global attorneys must cease outside legal practice and suit involvement before joining, except for authorized and pro bono work.
• Ability to travel by personal or commercial transportation for job-related activities; irregular hours may be required.
