Sr. Software Engineer - Cloud - Risk Analytics (Hybrid)

Location: USA - New York, NY; hybrid role requiring 2-3 days per week in the Midtown, Manhattan office

Salary: $140,000-$215,000 per year, plus potential bonuses, equity grants, and benefits

Cybersecurity company developing an AI-native platform for stopping breaches and analyzing large-scale security data.

What you will do

• Architect and develop scalable backend services for internal and customer-facing applications.
• Build command-line utilities, REST APIs, databases, real-time data pipelines, and monitoring systems.
• Process high-volume streaming events and large-scale batch ETL workloads.
• Develop risk intelligence capabilities including risk compounding analysis, attack path analysis, and posture scoring.
• Configure monitoring and alerting, maintain service availability, and support incident response.
• Collaborate with UX/UI, Sensors, and other teams while mentoring junior engineers and contributing to technical decisions.

Requirements

• 8-10 years of production experience building and maintaining large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience with Apache Spark, Apache Flink, Kafka, microservices, REST APIs, and distributed communication patterns.
• Advanced programming skills in strongly typed object-oriented languages, with Golang and Python used primarily.
• Cloud infrastructure experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, including provisioning, monitoring, and optimization.
• Experience applying AI technologies to improve decision-making, workflows, efficiency, and business outcomes.
• Strong knowledge of algorithms, data structures, system design, testing, troubleshooting, performance, and reliability; bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Large-scale Spark, Flink, or Spark Streaming tuning and management.
• Graph databases and graph structures, including nodes, edges, and relationships.
• Cassandra and CQL experience.
• Cybersecurity industry experience or relevant certifications.
• Docker, Kubernetes, open-source contributions, or technical community involvement.
