Lead Application Developer (Cloud-Native)

What you will do

• Lead the development and modernization of enterprise applications in cloud-native environments.
• Refactor legacy and COTS applications into modular, microservices-based platforms using open-source technologies.
• Design and integrate APIs, event-driven services, messaging systems, and distributed applications.
• Build secure, scalable, highly available applications for high-volume and near real-time data processing.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines and implement DevSecOps practices, including automated testing, scanning, and compliance validation.
• Support data ingestion, ETL, analytics, system integration, troubleshooting, code reviews, mentoring, and Agile/SAFe delivery.

Requirements

• US citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• 15+ years of experience in software development, application engineering, or modernization programs.
• Experience leading development teams in large-scale federal transformation initiatives.
• Strong experience with enterprise cloud-native applications, microservices, APIs, event-driven architectures, and distributed integrations.
• Experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, data pipelines, scalability, resiliency, and performance optimization.
• Understanding of NIST, FedRAMP, FISMA, Zero Trust, MFA, ATO processes, Agile/Scrum, and SAFe environments.

Nice to have

• AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud certifications.
• Experience with federal, statistical, or mission-critical modernization programs.
• Experience integrating AI/ML capabilities into enterprise applications.
• Experience with Kafka and large-scale event-streaming or system-of-systems integration.
