Staff Software Engineer, AI Security

Location: Menlo Park, CA or Bellevue, WA; in-person attendance is expected at least 3 days per week.

Base pay: $230,000–$270,000 USD annually for Zone 1 locations. Additional compensation may include bonuses, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Design and build a scalable AI platform for security teams to develop, deploy, and operate AI-powered agents.
• Build platform services, APIs, libraries, SDKs, and reusable developer tooling for AI security workflows.
• Design secure systems with identity, authentication, authorization, encryption, and data protection controls.
• Build and operate reliable, large-scale distributed systems for AI-powered security use cases.
• Develop guardrails that enable teams to safely build and operate AI agents.
• Partner with security, infrastructure, and engineering teams to shape platform architecture and improve performance, reliability, automation, and developer experience.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software development experience and 6+ years building large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience with AI platforms, AI infrastructure, or production systems supporting AI-powered applications or agents.
• Proficiency in Go or Python, with strong production debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with cloud-native and distributed systems technologies such as AWS, Kubernetes, gRPC, or Kafka.
• Strong understanding of security fundamentals, including authentication, authorization, identity, encryption, and secure production system design.
• Experience delivering large engineering projects and collaborating across security and engineering teams.
