Software Engineer (AI)

Location: San Mateo, United States; hybrid work required

Salary: $210,000–$250,000 per year

What you will do

• Architect, build, and scale data infrastructure and core engineering platforms.
• Write resilient backend code and develop REST and GraphQL APIs.
• Own complex technical problems from system design through production deployment.
• Establish architectural standards and best practices for reliability, security, and scalability.
• Partner with product and engineering leadership on technical roadmaps.
• Mentor engineers and communicate technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• 5–8+ years of experience owning critical components or services.
• Expert proficiency in TypeScript with Node.js and/or Python.
• Experience with web services, data pipelines, ETL/ELT, orchestration frameworks, and SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Experience with CI/CD, production monitoring, alerting, logging, metrics, traces, and on-call operations.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, plus security fundamentals.
• English C1 required for technical calls and clear written communication.

Nice to have

• Experience with SaaS platforms, engineering analytics, or developer-productivity tooling.
• Experience with IaC, containers, serverless systems, queues, or event-driven architectures.
• Knowledge of authentication, authorization, secrets management, and DORA metrics.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted coding agents.
