VP, Portfolio Manager Lead (Fintech)

Location: HQ - San Diego, California, United States

Salary: $100,000-$165,000 per year, plus eligible discretionary cash and restricted stock unit bonus targets of 12.5% each.

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and develop Portfolio Managers and Credit Analysts managing cash flow lending relationships.
• Oversee portfolio performance, credit quality, risk ratings, covenant compliance, borrower reporting, and financial performance.
• Act as the escalation point for problem credits, covenant breaches, exceptions, and emerging risks.
• Review and approve credit memoranda, risk-rating recommendations, amendments, waivers, renewals, and portfolio decisions within delegated authority.
• Partner with Relationship Management, Originations, Underwriting, Credit Administration, Legal, and senior leadership.
• Build portfolio reporting, dashboards, and process improvements while supporting strategic growth and regulatory examinations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
• 8-10 years of experience in commercial banking, leveraged finance, cash flow lending, portfolio management, or credit risk management.
• 3-5 years of leadership or team management experience.
• Strong knowledge of commercial credit analysis, financial statement analysis, cash flow modeling, leverage metrics, covenant structures, risk grading, lending policies, and credit documentation.
• Experience with sponsor-backed, middle-market, leveraged finance, or cash flow lending portfolios.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and portfolio management systems, with strong analytical, written, verbal, and presentation skills.
