Credit and Collections Associate (Finance)

Location: United States; nearest major market New Haven, with Hartford as the nearest secondary market.

Salary: $60,000–$80,000 annual base salary, plus a performance-related bonus.

What you will do

• Minimize bad debt risk and maximize accounts receivable collections.
• Resolve invoice disputes and account discrepancies through customer contact and coordination with Sales, Customer Service, Accounting, and management.
• Analyze customer financial condition, establish credit lines, approve new credit accounts, and monitor potential problem accounts.
• Prepare monthly Credit and Collections KPIs and maintain accurate credit, collection, and ERP records.
• Support SOX controls, reporting, audits, and credit-related process improvement initiatives.
• Conduct collection calls, negotiate disputes, document root causes, and maintain relationships with internal and external customers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; Accounting or Finance preferred.
• Five years of prior experience as a Credit Analyst in a fast-paced environment, preferably in manufacturing.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, S/4, or JDE.
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and the ability to interpret customer financial statements.
• Strong business writing, professional communication, customer service, judgment, and teamwork skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions.
