TEM Engineer (Semiconductor)

Location: Santa Clara, California, United States. Onsite role with travel required up to 10% of the time. Relocation is not eligible.

Salary: $124,000–$171,000 per year.

What you will do

• Perform daily TEM analysis, including microstructure and chemical analysis using electron diffraction, EDS, and EELS.
• Develop atomic-resolution device characterization solutions with high accuracy and reliability for semiconductor processes.
• Apply existing and new technologies to resolve challenging process issues and support technology development projects.
• Correlate atomic-scale structural and chemical information with processing, physical modeling, and device performance.
• Design experiments, collect and analyze data, perform hardware characterization, and conduct root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate with customers, instrument vendors, suppliers, industry partners, and internal R&D teams to drive the technology roadmap.

Requirements

• Strong background and experience in materials characterization using TEM.
• Excellent knowledge of semiconductors, crystallography, and diffraction.
• Programming skills in AI and Python.
• PhD or equivalent experience in engineering, physics, materials science, or a semiconductor-related field.
• Creative problem-solving skills, effective oral and written communication, and the ability to collaborate with others.
