Staff Software Engineer (Fintech)

Location: United States; remote-first. Office spaces are available in San Jose, California and Draper, Utah.

Salary: $156,400–$220,800 USD annually, depending on geographic zone.

What you will do

• Design, scope, and implement scalable accounting software synchronization products.
• Build, maintain, enhance, and scale two-way integrations between the hirify.global payment network and major accounting platforms.
• Lead developers in delivering complex software solutions from concept through launch.
• Develop new AWS microservices and improve customer data synchronization experiences.
• Drive step-function improvements in platform performance, reliability, and scale.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate on product and customer-focused solutions.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software development experience.
• Expert-level Java, SQL, and NoSQL database knowledge.
• Strong experience with system design and the full software development lifecycle, including code reviews, unit testing, automation testing, and CI/CD.
• Ability to lead teams and deliver end-to-end software solutions.
• Experience with tools such as Splunk, Datadog, Mixpanel, or LaunchDarkly.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience using AWS services to build microservices.
• Frontend development experience with React or Angular.
• Accounting, ERP, payments, or other FinTech domain knowledge.
• Experience with generative AI, machine learning, recommendation engines, prompt design, and LLM output evaluation.
