SW Engineer (Java)

Location: US - Bellevue, WA; hybrid work with at least 3 days in the office. Travel required 5–10% of the time.

Salary: $91,600–$142,300 USD per year, with potential bonus and equity eligibility.

What you will do

• Implement basic enhancements and modifications to existing software under close guidance.
• Write modular, reusable Java code for commercial and end-user applications.
• Design and implement test automation for reliable software delivery.
• Participate in code reviews, debugging, troubleshooting, and resolving static analysis and security scan findings.
• Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle and deliver work on schedule.
• Document installation and maintenance procedures and support the definition of system requirements when needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with Core Java and Java web application development for RESTful web services.
• Knowledge of object-oriented design, design patterns, APIs, and test-driven development.
• Experience or knowledge with Spring, Spring Boot, Maven, Spring Data, JPA, and JDBC.
• Knowledge of reactive and event-driven programming with Kafka, plus multithreading and concurrency.
• Experience with CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, security scanners, and Java- or JavaScript-based API automation frameworks.

Nice to have

• Degree in mathematics, science, engineering, computer science, information systems, or a related field.
• Practical prompt engineering and context management experience for LLMs.
• Professional use of AI coding assistants such as Claude or GitHub Copilot.
• Frontend development experience with React or Angular.
