Embedded Software Engineer (Bachelor's Level, Early Career)

Location: Onsite in Longmont, Colorado, or Shakopee, Minnesota, United States

Base salary: $72,571–$103,784 per year, depending on work location, skills, experience, education, and training.

What you will do

• Analyze, design, implement, debug, and maintain embedded software components in C/C++.
• Build modular, testable software with clear interfaces, appropriate abstraction, and maintainable structure.
• Improve embedded software architecture for reuse, performance, reliability, and long-term ownership.
• Troubleshoot issues across embedded software, hardware, and storage product behavior.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and defect-prevention practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
• Strong knowledge of operating systems, concurrency, memory management, and computer architecture.
• Programming experience in C/C++, Rust, Python, or similar languages.
• Understanding of embedded systems, resource-constrained design, hardware/software interaction, and modern development practices.
• Ability to analyze complex problems, reason from first principles, and communicate technical trade-offs clearly.
• Ability to work onsite in Longmont, Colorado, or Shakopee, Minnesota.

Nice to have

• Experience with embedded operating systems, device drivers, storage systems, real-time software, or low-level platform software.
• Exposure to modular architecture, interface contracts, testable design, build systems, CI/CD, or software quality tools.
• Knowledge of HDD devices, storage protocols, system-level performance analysis, or storage subsystem topologies.
