Finance Manager

Salary: CAD 8,087.08–12,117.08 per month

What you will do

• Provide strategic financial and budgetary advice to directors, managers, administrators, and senior leadership across the Finance & Operations portfolio.
• Develop financial reports, models, forecasts, variance analyses, KPI summaries, and budget structures for departments with a combined operating budget exceeding $240 million.
• Lead quarterly forecasting, annual budgeting, and five-year planning, including assumptions, guidelines, and scenario analysis.
• Analyze actual costs, revenues, budget drivers, financial risks, and the impact of strategic initiatives.
• Assess and improve financial systems, reporting processes, data structures, and operational workflows, including training and implementation of new systems.
• Manage financial operations including billing, receipt of funds, account reviews, and technology-driven client billing solutions; supervise M&P and CUPE staff.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
• Completion of the CPA accounting program, including CA, CGA, or CMA.
• At least seven years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with financial and budgetary analysis, reporting systems, large ERP systems or large datasets, and development of analytical and reporting tools.
• Ability to consolidate and interpret data, support senior management decisions, explain financial reports to non-financial managers, and manage complex issues under pressure.
• Advanced computer skills, strong communication and organizational skills, accuracy, judgment, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Nice to have

• Experience in post-secondary education.
• Experience with fund accounting, accounting systems, budgeting, and management of accounting teams.
