Managing Product Counsel (Healthcare)

Location: Remote (US)

Salary: $200,000–$230,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Embed with Product, Engineering, and Design from early scoping through launch across features, integrations, and partner-facing surfaces.
• Advise on product regulatory architecture, including ICHRA, IRS substantiation, ERISA, ACA, producer licensing, and TPA obligations.
• Review disclosures, onboarding and enrollment flows, marketing, terms of service, consents, notices, and user agreements.
• Counsel on privacy, data use, AI-powered features, intellectual property, and downstream contractual commitments.
• Build scalable launch checklists, playbooks, self-serve guidance, training, and product-facing regulatory review standards.
• Set standards for product legal work and partner with Compliance, Commercial Counsel, and the broader legal team.

Requirements

• JD from an accredited law school and 9+ years of legal practice, including meaningful in-house experience supporting Product and Engineering.
• Experience advising on regulated consumer products where compliance is designed into the product.
• Knowledge of health insurance, employee benefits, financial services, or a comparable regulated environment.
• Ability to review product specifications, data flows, and design files to identify legal issues independently.
• Experience making and documenting risk decisions, building legal processes, and operating in startup or high-growth environments.
• Strong communication, collaboration, leadership, and cross-functional partnership skills.

• Experience with health benefits, payroll, and tax reporting.
• Depth in intellectual property or data protection law.
• Experience with AI governance in a consumer-facing product.
• Strong business acumen and the ability to balance legal risk with commercial objectives.
