Tactical Development Operations Lead (Autonomous Vehicles)

Location: Palmer, Texas and Dallas, Texas; mandatory in-office work 4 days per week. Monday–Friday night shift from 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM, with as-needed travel across testing locations.

Salary: $83,000–$120,500 per year, plus eligibility for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead daily development testing deployments and perform in-field operational tasks to maintain testing timelines.
• Support operators with complex test plans and ensure data collection meets software and hardware development needs.
• Coordinate asset availability, scheduling, and operational blockers with Maintenance and Fleet Operations.
• Travel to field locations, provide emergency coverage, and support vehicle start-up, shut-down, troubleshooting, and in-vehicle testing.
• Build team cohesion for a workforce traveling 90% of the time while providing feedback, coaching, and performance guidance.
• Monitor Hours of Service, lead Driver Monitoring System coaching, facilitate safety reviews, and ensure adherence to SOPs.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in dispatch, fleet operations, or a high-tempo scheduling environment.
• 1–2+ years of leadership experience motivating remote or distributed teams.
• Strong critical thinking, judgment, command decision-making, conflict resolution, and initiative.
• Flexibility to work day, night, and weekend shifts, including unplanned schedule changes.
• Ability to participate in on-call response and incident management.
• Ability to work 4 days per week in the Palmer, TX terminal and hirify.global Dallas office, with substantial travel required.

Nice to have

• Experience managing traveling teams, CDL-licensed personnel, or remote technical workforces.
• Commercial operations management experience.
• Background in robotics, autonomous vehicles, or complex logistics.
• Experience coordinating across multiple geographies and stakeholder groups.
• CDL license.
