Operations Manager, AV Projects (Autonomous Vehicles): Running and improving accessible transit services, autonomous vehicle projects, and wheelchair-accessible vehicle fleets with an accent on real-time operations, fleet compliance, and rider accessibility. Focus on leading onsite service delivery, solving live mobility issues, coordinating AV partners and local operators, and building scalable training and operational processes across U.S. markets.

Location: New York City; based in the NYC area with onsite work at local services several days per week and monthly travel across the United States.

Salary: $70,000–$90,000 per year, excluding equity or variable pay.

What you will do

  • Run daily onsite operations and ensure safe, reliable, and accessible transportation services.
  • Make real-time decisions about fleet availability, WAV compliance, rider accessibility needs, and unexpected operational issues.
  • Analyze ridership trends, service performance, and fleet utilization to improve transit efficiency and rider independence.
  • Translate rider, mobility-advocate, and community feedback into operational improvements.
  • Coordinate local partners, safety drivers, third-party operators, AV partners, and internal teams.
  • Travel to key markets to lead driver onboarding and specialized WAV safety and securement training.

Requirements

  • Based in the NYC area and able to work onsite and in-office when needed.
  • Operational experience in people management, logistics, customer service, or process-oriented work.
  • Ability to triage live operational issues while developing long-term processes for service quality and accessibility compliance.
  • Strong relationship-building, communication, follow-through, and partner coordination skills.
  • Willingness to travel regularly, including monthly travel to services across the United States.

Nice to have

  • Experience with paratransit, non-emergency medical transportation, or wheelchair-accessible vehicle fleets.
