Database Administrator (Cloud/Distributed Systems)

Location: Remote; associated with hirify.global Corporate Offices

What you will do

• Develop, test, deploy, and iteratively improve database capabilities, products, features, and APIs.
• Collaborate with software engineers, designers, product managers, end users, and database engineering peers.
• Manage code, infrastructure, data, security, CI/CD, and documentation across the database product lifecycle.
• Build secure, highly available, integrated, and easy-to-use database products for development teams.
• Apply software engineering practices across cloud-based and on-premises environments.
• Contribute to database engineering standards and improve the developer experience.

Requirements

• Experience with software development, infrastructure systems, infrastructure operations, and infrastructure security.
• Ability to work with complex distributed systems and develop highly available, integrated products.
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly and solve problems with a customer-focused approach.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Ability to plan, prioritize, monitor activities, and complete assigned projects on time.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in MIS, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Object-oriented development experience with GitLab, PowerShell, Python, Shell, or Go.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS, infrastructure as code, GitOps, CI/CD, and test-driven development.
• Experience deploying, configuring, migrating, and supporting Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL, CloudSQL, MongoDB, Redis, messaging, or other stateful distributed systems.
• At least 2 years of experience in software or infrastructure platform development.
