Senior Database Consultant (MySQL)

Location: Latvia; remote work from home with no daily office travel required

What you will do

• Coordinate, design, implement, administer, and maintain MySQL database solutions and server configurations.
• Analyze customer infrastructure and operational processes, recommending improvements for uptime, performance, and recoverability.
• Manage backups, disaster recovery, clustering, mirroring, replication, failover, restoration, and proactive monitoring.
• Handle incident and problem management, troubleshooting, changes, service requests, technical procedures, and customer reporting.
• Improve monitoring checks, DBA toolkits, audits, reviews, and internal service processes.
• Support presales activities, contribute to technical content, and mentor and train database consultants.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in a DBRE, SRE, or production DBA role.
• Strong object-oriented programming skills with Python or Go, including practical Django experience.
• Hands-on experience designing, deploying, and managing scalable infrastructure in AWS.
• Deep knowledge of Terraform, Bash scripting, and Unix/Linux system administration.
• Experience with Docker, GKE, Vault, ProxySQL, and GitLab for CI/CD.
• Strong consulting, customer communication, analytical troubleshooting, and continuous optimization skills.
