What you will do
- Administer, support, and optimize critical SQL Server database environments.
- Monitor database health, availability, performance, capacity, security, integrity, and resource utilization.
- Tune SQL queries, indexes, execution plans, and database structures.
- Implement backup, restore, replication, contingency, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Participate in database migration and modernization projects, particularly in AWS environments.
- Collaborate with development, infrastructure, cloud, security, and architecture teams while supporting incident response and operational automation.
Requirements
- Middle-level experience in database administration.
- Strong hands-on expertise with Microsoft SQL Server and SQL troubleshooting.
- Experience supporting critical, large-scale, or mission-critical database environments in banking or financial services.
- Knowledge of high availability, database security, performance optimization, disaster recovery, monitoring, capacity planning, and environment recovery.
- Experience with cloud and hybrid environments, preferably AWS, plus database migrations or modernization.
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, or a related field.
Nice to have
- Experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or NoSQL databases.
- Experience with Python, PowerShell, Infrastructure as Code, or automated cloud-provisioning tools.
- Microsoft, AWS, or comparable technical certifications.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
