Field Service Engineer, Home and Business (Solar PV)

Location: Hybrid at the Rocklin, California headquarters, with field travel required. Applicants must be authorized to work full time in the United States.

Compensation: $32.69–$35.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

What you will do

• Perform on-site and remote commissioning and on-site BlueNote repairs.
• Provide third-level technical support for complex customer inquiries and field engineering engagements.
• Act as a technical resource and mentor for first- and second-level Home and Business Service teams.
• Work with R&D to improve the design, performance, and serviceability of inverter and communications products.
• Develop advanced training content, technical documentation, FAQs, and best practices.
• Conduct case quality audits, support compliance documentation, and maintain travel and expense records.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in technical support or an equivalent role.
• Experience with solar electric PV installation, system design, or inspection.
• Training in residential and commercial solar products and systems.
• Advanced troubleshooting, technical support, communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in English and authorization to work full time in the United States are required.
• Ability to work nonstandard hours and travel as required.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Knowledge of SMA products and power plant measurement techniques.
• Pre-sales technical review experience.
• NABCEP certification.
• Additional language skills.
