Tool & Die Engineer

Location: Gibsonton, Florida, United States; onsite machine shop role.

What you will do

• Manage daily machine shop operations, including staffing, scheduling, workload prioritization, and performance management.
• Maintain and repair wax injection dies, ceramic core dies, molds, fixtures, and other production tooling.
• Lead precision machining, grinding, polishing, welding, calibration, and equipment care activities.
• Design, modify, and build tooling and fixtures using CAD/CAM software in collaboration with Manufacturing and Process Engineering.
• Prioritize repair backlogs, plan preventive maintenance capacity, and troubleshoot tooling failures to reduce production downtime.
• Drive Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma improvements while enforcing safety, quality, 5S, EHS, and training standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent education and experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in tool and die making, precision machining, or machine shop operations in manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience repairing, maintaining, and building dies, molds, and fixtures.
• Proficiency with CNC milling, turning, EDM, surface grinding, machine shop equipment, precision measurement tools, and CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks or Mastercam.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T requirements, with strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and team leadership skills.
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Any required export license from the U.S. Department of Commerce or Department of State must be issued before employment.
