Sr. Mechanical Engineer (Power Tools)

Location: Anderson, South Carolina, United States; on-premise with some remote work currently required

What you will do

• Design and develop components and assemblies for new concepts and mature consumer products.
• Lead designs that meet market requirements for cost, timing, reliability, and high-volume manufacturing.
• Build functional prototypes and test fixtures to validate designs and concepts.
• Communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders in Anderson and internationally.
• Manage component and assembly integration, material selection, packaging, safety, regulatory compliance, and standards compliance.
• Apply value analysis, FMEA, design of experiments, design for manufacture and assembly, inspection methods, CAD analysis, and 3D design tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
• 10+ years of mechanical design experience.
• Proven experience with 3D CAD and mechanism design, including bearings, shafts, gears, components, and assemblies.
• Hands-on experience building functional prototypes and knowledge of strength of materials.
• Knowledge of GD&T and manufacturing processes such as plastic injection molding, screw machining, powder metal, stampings, and forming.
• Software experience with NX, SolidWorks, MATLAB, or ANSYS.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of finite element analysis and basic dynamics.
