Associate, Manufacturing Engineer (Aerospace Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Support manufacturing of high-reliability electronic hardware for tactical satellite equipment, including SMT solder assembly, mechanical integration, and environmental testing.
• Create work instructions, assembly routings, process procedures, manufacturing plans, and labor or cycle-time standards.
• Develop and qualify manufacturing tools, equipment, materials, and processes for new product introduction.
• Coordinate the transfer of new products from Engineering to Production through cross-functional Integrated Product Teams.
• Analyze manufacturing costs, labor variances, process performance, and product-line KPIs.
• Support root-cause investigations, non-conformance reviews, engineering changes, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical, industrial engineering, or a related field, or completed the degree within the last 12 months.
• Ability to support onsite manufacturing operations in Huntsville, Alabama.
• Ability to work with cross-functional engineering and production teams.
• Security clearance may be required; clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.
• Employment may include background checks, government security investigations, and pre-employment substance abuse testing where permitted by law.

Nice to have

• Experience with soldering or basic electronic manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with basic CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Creo.
• Basic understanding of 3D printing.
• Lean Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt certification.
• Experience with Minitab, JMP, or other statistical software.
