R&D Engineer

Gastite develops fuel gas piping systems, components, and accessories for residential and commercial construction, with a focus on product innovation and technical support.

What you will do

• Design and develop new products and product families for residential and commercial construction.
• Organize and lead stage-gate projects from product concept through market introduction.
• Evaluate products and processes for performance, functionality, and design verification.
• Create concepts and prototypes using SolidWorks, 3D printing, machine shops, and production teams.
• Conduct laboratory testing for product performance, validation, and verification.
• Collaborate with internal teams and customers, manage multiple assignments, and support safety requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
• At least 2 years of intern, co-op, or on-the-job experience.
• Experience with 3D solid modeling CAD, preferably SolidWorks, and finite element analysis, preferably SolidWorks Simulation.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials science, laboratory and measuring equipment, and technical drawings.
• Ability to lead projects, manage multiple tasks, and work effectively with teams and customers.
• Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Three to five years of related experience.
• Experience with Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques.
• Additional SolidWorks experience.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
