Associate Scientist (Cellular Assays)

Location: Frederick, MD, USA; onsite Tuesday through Saturday

Salary: $83,200–$124,800 USD per year, plus discretionary annual bonus

What you will do

• Perform Neutralizing Antibody Assays and other immunocellular assays according to SOPs.
• Design experiments, analyze and present data, and troubleshoot routine scientific issues.
• Develop, improve, and document laboratory procedures and SOPs.
• Implement emerging laboratory techniques and support equipment qualifications and performance checks.
• Collaborate with technical teams, provide scientific technology platform expertise, and support client-facing activities.
• Prepare proposals, abstracts, technical materials, and scientific papers, and present completed work at scientific meetings or in publications.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, biological, clinical, medical science, or medical technology field with 8 years of relevant laboratory experience, or a master’s degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Expert-level mammalian cell culture and plate-based cellular assay experience.
• Strong data organization, analysis, reporting, communication, interpersonal, organizational, computational, and judgment skills.
• Experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and preferably GraphPad Prism.
• Ability to work extended hours occasionally and perform physical laboratory duties, including lifting and working in freezer environments from -20°C to -196°C.
• Fluent English reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension required. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Understanding of GxP and CAP/CLIA/ISO/New York clinical laboratory standards.
• Experience with immune-monitoring assays, including Total Antibody Detection, cell-based Neutralizing Antibody assays, and functional cytokine production assays.
