Senior Scientist

Location: Rockville, Maryland, USA. Onsite laboratory role involving work at a laboratory bench, occasional work at heights above four feet, and lifting up to 25 pounds.

Salary: $116,600–$177,800 annual base salary, with potential additional discretionary or non-discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Develop, design, and execute experiments supporting research, feasibility studies, product development, and qualification.
• Analyze complex scientific data using statistical methods and prepare tables, graphs, recommendations, and presentations.
• Lead or contribute to technical and interdisciplinary teams, coordinating project work and deliverables.
• Prepare experimental procedures, laboratory records, batch and test documentation, and research materials.
• Troubleshoot and optimize experiments, conduct literature and market research, and procure reagents and equipment.
• Supervise direct reports, establish objectives and accountabilities, and support patents, grant proposals, posters, and publications.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related field preferred; a Master's or Bachelor's degree may be considered with additional relevant experience.
• Minimum of 6 years of laboratory experience; industrial immunoassay development experience is desired.
• Supervisory or management experience is required.
• Experience analyzing complex scientific data, advanced statistics, and strong scientific and analytical fundamentals.
• Training and experience with BSL-2 techniques are required.
• Expertise in GraphPad Prism, Microsoft Excel, and SharePoint, with strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Postdoctoral or industrial experience.

• Additional hands-on experience with the MSD platform.
