Protection & Control (P&C) Engineer — Substations (T&D)

What you will do

• Design protection and control systems for transmission and distribution substations, data centers, industrial facilities, and BESS projects.
• Prepare protection single-line and three-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, tripping tables, logic diagrams, metering and alarm schematics, panel arrangements, and wiring diagrams.
• Produce auxiliary AC/DC one-line diagrams and perform battery, charger, voltage-drop, and auxiliary power calculations.
• Review P&C deliverables and technical documentation from equipment vendors and manufacturers.
• Coordinate with layout engineers, relay setting engineers, site and commissioning teams, field personnel, and project engineering leadership.
• Support FAT/SAT procedures, constructability reviews, technical issue resolution, safety, accuracy, and delivery deadlines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Experience designing protection and control systems for HV or EHV substations and utility, renewable energy, or industrial projects.
• Knowledge of substation voltage levels from 12 kV to 500 kV.
• Fluent written and spoken English required.
• Preferred: P.Eng. designation in Canada, PE license in the United States, or eligibility to obtain one within 12 months.
• Preferred technical experience includes SEL, ABB, or GE Multilin IEDs, relay settings, SCADA configuration files, IEC 61850, NERC-CIP, ANSI/NEC, ETAP, Aspen OneLiner, AutoCAD, EBase, AIS/GIS substations, and field testing.
