Senior BAS Controls Designer (DDC)

Location: 100% remote within the United States

Salary: $92,900–$134,000 per year, plus benefits and potential performance incentives.

What you will do

• Lead the design and development of DDC control systems for HVAC, lighting, energy management, and other building systems.
• Create system architecture diagrams, wiring schematics, control panel layouts, sequences of operation, submittals, and as-built documentation.
• Select and specify controllers, sensors, actuators, and related components for performance, compatibility, and cost effectiveness.
• Analyze engineering workflows, develop standards and design libraries, and implement tools that improve efficiency and consistency.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, clients, vendors, and installation teams to translate requirements into actionable designs.
• Provide technical leadership, conduct design reviews, support commissioning, and resolve design-related implementation challenges.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• At least 7 years of experience designing DDC control systems and leading successful projects.
• Proficiency with building automation protocols, including BACnet, Modbus, and LonWorks.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical wiring, control panel design, building codes, CAD software, and controls design tools.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, leadership, and project management skills.
• Must be able to work remotely from within the United States.
