Graduate Electrical Engineer (HVDC)

What you will do

• Join a project engineering team delivering station-to-station and station-to-offshore HVDC projects in the UK and beyond.
• Study and simulate control and protection systems for HVDC infrastructure.
• Analyse the effects of HVDC infrastructure on connected electricity networks and interactions with local generation systems.
• Use real-time simulation equipment in HVDC laboratories to test system behaviour under network faults and operating conditions.
• Develop project delivery skills covering value, efficiency, footprint, schedule, cost, and operational coordination.
• Progress from general training into a specialisation such as system studies, real-time simulation, DC controls, or DC protection engineering.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or Power System Engineering.
• Three A Levels or equivalent, preferably including Mathematics and Science.
• Enthusiasm for a career in renewable energy project delivery.
• Ability to work in an agile team and adapt to change.
• Confident communication and proactive problem-solving skills.
• Relevant industrial experience, such as a placement or internship, is beneficial but not essential.
