Agentic Engineering Manager (AI)

Location: Utah, United States; hybrid with regular in-office days each week

What you will do

• Manage 1–2 scrum teams building the Agent SDK, RAG pipeline, sandboxed code execution environment, evaluation frameworks, and observability capabilities.
• Set standards for agent specifications, delegated execution, verification, SDK conventions, guardrails, evaluation harnesses, and playbooks.
• Partner with platform consumers to shape the SDK roadmap, APIs, and guardrails.
• Coach and mentor engineers on agentic engineering practices and coordinate concurrent platform workstreams.
• Own the execution roadmap, sprint goals, quarterly OKRs, performance accountability, and delivery expectations.
• Collaborate with Product Management, UX Designers, and Tech Leads; participate in hiring and continuous process improvement.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software development experience and 2+ years of demonstrable technical leadership.
• Experience building or operating platform-level engineering teams, internal SDKs, developer platforms, or infrastructure used by other teams.
• Experience managing or working with engineers who use AI coding agents to build production software.
• Proficiency in context engineering, including repository and task context structuring and standards for agent specifications.
• Familiarity with RAG, sandboxed code execution, evaluation frameworks, observability, object-oriented development, SaaS, Git, process documentation, and performance metrics.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with LLM tooling, vector databases, isolated code execution, agent evaluation, tracing, prompt/response logging, or evaluation harnesses.
• Experience defining verification and security standards for agent-generated code, including injection, data handling, and unsafe output.
• Knowledge of high-volume data storage and access practices.
• MySQL and MSSQL query language and database design experience.
