Engineering Manager - AI Platform

What you will do

• Lead, hire, coach, and grow a small team of AI/ML and platform engineers.
• Own the AI strategy, roadmap, prioritization, and delivery.
• Build reusable GenAI services, AI agents, orchestration, RAG, semantic search, tool calling, and workflow automation.
• Define platform standards, golden paths, and shared frameworks for engineering teams.
• Modernize microservices, event-driven, API-first, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, and cloud-native SaaS across .NET and Python.
• Establish AI governance and safety practices, including evaluations, guardrails, tracing, hallucination and PII protection, and human-in-the-loop workflows.

Requirements

• 6–8 years of engineering experience, including 1–2 years as a manager or tech lead; strong senior or staff engineers entering management are considered.
• Experience shipping shared or platform services used by other engineers.
• Hands-on experience with GenAI/LLMs, RAG, vector databases, and semantic search.
• Strong .NET and Python skills for APIs, backend systems, and AI services.
• Experience with distributed systems, microservices, event-driven and API-first architectures, IaC, containers, CI/CD, and cloud-native SaaS.
• Must be legally able to work in the US or Canada; US sponsorship may be required to work in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience building AI platforms, internal AI tooling, or an AI Center of Excellence.
• Experience with agents, A2A, MCP servers, tool registries, agent memory, and observability.
• Experience with .NET modernization and Python AI services.
• Experience delivering products in regulated or public-sector environments.
• Familiarity with Langfuse, LangSmith, MLflow, Phoenix, OpenSearch, Snowflake, or Databricks.
