AV Engineer, Platform & Automation

Location: Based in the San Francisco or New York City office; expected in office 50% of the time. Up to four weeks of domestic and international travel annually for rollouts, new-office readiness, and on-site testing.

Annual salary: $285,000–$325,000 USD

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate internal tools and integrations for AV and collaboration systems across offices.
• Develop fleet health monitoring, automated room testing, and ticketing workflows that identify failures proactively.
• Integrate AV platforms and device APIs, including Q-SYS, Logitech Sync, Google Meet hardware, digital signage, Jira, Slack, PagerDuty, and Google Workspace.
• Automate provisioning, configuration baselines, drift detection, certificate renewal, asset data, and software release management.
• Establish source control, code review, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, staged rollouts, rollback plans, and version control for AV configurations.
• Partner with Security, IT Engineering, Network, AV Operations, Events, and AV Engineering to prioritize tooling and implement secure, maintainable solutions.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience across AV, collaboration, or IT systems engineering, including 4+ years writing and maintaining production code.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, and experience in a relevant field.
• Fluency in Python, Lua, Go, TypeScript, or a similar general-purpose language, plus shell scripting.
• Experience with Git workflows, code review, automated testing, CI/CD, logging, and observability.
• Understanding of DSP and control systems, conferencing platforms, room devices, signal flow, and AV-over-IP.
• Experience building REST API, webhook, or vendor SDK integrations and operating production tools over time.

Nice to have

• Q-SYS Lua scripting and plugin development, Logitech Sync, CollabOS, or Google Meet hardware administration.
• Google Workspace APIs, GCP, Terraform, Jira, Slack, PagerDuty, or infrastructure-as-code experience.
• Crestron, Extron, Dante, AES67, NDI, multicast, VLAN, or QoS experience.
• LLM-based automation, agentic internal tools, MCP integrations, Prometheus, Grafana, or containerized deployment.
• Q-SYS Level 2, CTS, or equivalent demonstrated capability.
