Infrastructure Cloud Engineer (Azure/AWS)

Location: Chicago, IL; hybrid schedule with required physical presence in the Chicago office and occasional support at other locations. Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with flexibility based on coverage.

Salary: $115,000–$130,000 per year, plus eligibility for annual performance-based incentives.

What you will do

• Design, implement, operate, and maintain secure, scalable infrastructure across Microsoft Azure and AWS.
• Manage Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access, RBAC, PIM, hybrid identity, and identity governance initiatives.
• Configure and support cloud-native networking, Windows Server environments, hybrid connectivity, storage, databases, monitoring, and physical network equipment.
• Deploy Microsoft Sentinel and integrate AI-powered security and monitoring tools for threat detection and response.
• Develop Terraform-based infrastructure as code and automate patching, provisioning, configuration management, and operational processes.
• Support application deployments, business continuity, compliance audits, documentation, production systems, and rotating after-hours on-call coverage.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience supporting an enterprise in a team environment.
• 3+ years of experience with cloud-native networking, including Azure VNets, subnets, NSGs, route tables, VNet peering, VPN Gateways, Azure Firewall, and equivalent AWS networking services.
• 3+ years administering Windows Server in a large enterprise, including patch management, Active Directory, and hybrid identity.
• Hands-on experience with switching, routing, VLANs, firewall rules, network segmentation, and Cisco or Meraki equipment; physical on-site network support in the Chicago office is required.
• Experience with Azure and AWS infrastructure, Entra ID, Azure PaaS services, Terraform, and PowerShell scripting.
• Working knowledge of zero trust networking, security zoning, SIEM, endpoint protection, and cloud-native security tooling.

Nice to have

• Palo Alto experience.
• Microsoft Azure AZ-104 or AZ-500 certification.
• Experience with Python or Bash.
