Private Funds Counsel (Private Equity/Private Credit)

Location: Boston, Massachusetts, United States; hybrid schedule with office attendance four days per week and remote work one day per week.

Base salary: USD 120,000–225,000 per year, plus potential variable compensation and benefits.

What you will do

• Advise on the formation, operation, governance, and lifecycle of private credit, private equity, venture capital, and evergreen funds.
• Support funds and related vehicles domiciled in the United States, Cayman Islands, and Europe.
• Counsel business, investment, and operational stakeholders on transactions, platform design, growth initiatives, and strategic projects.
• Represent the firm in negotiations with fund investors and strategic service providers.
• Manage external counsel and alternative legal service providers.
• Monitor legal, regulatory, and market developments and help develop scalable fund lifecycle support models, policies, and controls.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of legal practice experience at a national law firm or in-house.
• Experience with private fund formation, investment adviser regulation, and federal securities laws.
• Strong counseling, judgment, communication, relationship-building, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize competing deadlines and work independently and collaboratively in a global, cross-functional environment.
• Interest in developing early-career professionals and learning new practice areas.
• Ability to work from the Boston office four days per week.
