What you will do
- Contribute to instrumentation activities from requirements development and design through laboratory testing, integration, de-modification, and test operations support.
- Plan, develop, and execute test plans to produce objective and reliable results.
- Develop, modify, and implement standard operating procedures for instrumentation hardware and system design.
- Collaborate with mechanical, systems, and test engineers to integrate instrumentation systems.
- Maintain, document, and control NIST standards for calibration and verification equipment.
- Design, test, troubleshoot, and analyze electrical and electronic systems and components.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in electrical engineering or a related role; a higher relevant degree may substitute for experience.
- Proficiency in electrical and electronic circuit design and testing techniques.
- Knowledge of engineering principles, Computer-Aided Engineering tools, and multidisciplinary design practices.
- Ability to analyze technical documents, schematics, measurements, and performance data and communicate technical information clearly.
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. security clearance are required.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with CAD, circuit modeling, simulation, schematic capture, PCB layout, and electrical component selection.
- Knowledge of aerospace and defense standards, FAA EWIS requirements, FMEA, SSA, ELA, EMC, and EMI.
- Familiarity with Ethernet, 1553, ARINC 429, CAN bus, and Curtiss-Wright or similar data acquisition systems.
- Experience with extensive ground and flight test programs.
