ATS Engineer, Senior

Location: Danville, California; hybrid work with an expectation of being in the office weekly

Salary: $122,000–$194,000 annually in the Bay Area, or $116,000–$184,000 annually in California, depending on qualifications, experience, location, and internal equity.

What you will do

• Prepare technical reports, specifications, test protocols, models, and client bid proposal estimates.
• Develop research strategies and roadmaps, identify emerging technologies, and translate findings into utility applications.
• Develop integration strategies for data centers, distributed energy resources, microgrids, flexible loads, and load-management technologies.
• Evaluate the effects of emerging data center loads on transmission and distribution systems.
• Lead complex tests, studies, standards development, industry collaboration, publications, and conference participation.
• Analyze test data, evaluate equipment and system performance, modify prototypes, and provide recommendations while coordinating project scope, schedules, budgets, and resources.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering in a discipline related to the assignment, such as mechanical, civil, or electrical engineering.
• At least 5 years of related experience.
• Knowledge of engineering research, testing concepts, methods, and techniques.
• Strong investigative, analytical, organizational, project management, communication, presentation, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to lead projects, review test designs, coach lower-level peers, and manage multiple assignments concurrently.
• Ability to work from the Danville office weekly under the hybrid arrangement.

Nice to have

• Master’s or PhD degree.
• Professional Engineer license.
• Understanding of quality assurance and quality control practices.
• Experience with customer service and team leadership.
