Product Compliance Engineer (Robotics)

Location: Boston office in Charlestown, Massachusetts; minimum 3 days per week in the office. Occasional travel is required, including up to 1 day per week to a contract manufacturer in Westborough for field evaluations and audits.

Salary: $124,000–$145,000 per year in Massachusetts.

What you will do

• Manage end-to-end UL listing and NSF certification for new food automation products.
• Translate UL and NSF standards into design requirements for mechanical, electrical, and software engineering teams.
• Coordinate with UL, NSF, testing laboratories, and alternative NRTLs during certification, field evaluations, and technical reviews.
• Plan and conduct heating, ground-bonding, mechanical safety, and material compatibility testing.
• Maintain certification records, testing procedures, critical component lists, NSF Food Zone material records, and compliant production BOMs.
• Work with contract manufacturers on Initial Production Inspections, periodic audits, purchase orders, invoicing, and corrective actions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 4+ years of experience obtaining or maintaining product listings with UL or a similar NRTL.
• Experience testing to UL or similar NRTL standards using dataloggers, thermistors, and mechanical safety testing equipment.
• Experience participating in new product design and identifying compliance issues early.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and BOMs.
• Strong attention to detail, communication, project management, and practical problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with NSF standards, including NSF 2, 4, 7, 18, 51, 169, or 170.
