TL;DR
Electrical Engineer (Robotics): Developing and validating electrical prototypes, wire harnesses, and cable assemblies for NEO humanoid robots with an accent on hands-on build integration, continuity testing, fault isolation, and reliable physical assemblies. Focus on translating schematics into build documentation, debugging electrical issues on the robot, and improving repeatability through fixturing and design-for-manufacturability work.

Location: San Carlos, California, United States; on-site

Salary: $175,000–$215,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do

  • Develop and validate electrical prototypes, wire harnesses, and cable assembly designs for NEO.
  • Translate schematics and wiring diagrams into build documentation and collaborate with technicians during assembly.
  • Plan and perform continuity and fault-isolation testing to identify opens, shorts, and connection issues.
  • Debug electrical issues on prototypes and robots, applying design and documentation improvements.
  • Improve recurring builds through documentation, fixturing, and design-for-manufacturability initiatives.
  • Partner with engineering and fabrication teams to move prototypes toward reliable, repeatable assemblies.

Requirements

  • 3–7 years of experience in electrical engineering or hands-on hardware development.
  • Experience developing and debugging electrical prototypes, harnesses, or cable assemblies.
  • Ability to read and create electrical schematics and wiring documentation.
  • Experience using measurement tools for continuity testing and electrical fault diagnosis.
  • Experience collaborating with technicians or fabrication partners to build and iterate hardware.
  • Ability to work on-site in San Carlos, California.

Nice to have

  • Experience with on-robot electrical debugging and rework.
  • Familiarity with IPC-620 acceptance criteria or IPC-7711/7722 rework standards.
  • Experience improving harness builds through fixturing, documentation, or design-for-manufacturability work.
  • Knowledge of power, signal, shielding, and grounding considerations in physical assemblies.
