Electrical Engineer (Robotics)

Location: Wilmington, Massachusetts, USA; lab and cross-functional presence preferred, with occasional travel to contract manufacturers, test facilities, or sites.

Base salary: $82,000–$113,300 per year, plus benefits.

What you will do

• Design electrical solutions for robotic-system boards, harnesses, interfaces, power distribution, sensing, compute, interconnect, and grounding.
• Take assigned designs from schematic capture and PCB layout through prototype bring-up, verification, documentation, and release.
• Use Altium for schematic and PCB design, including placement, routing, DFM, SI/PI, EMC, and DfX practices.
• Support product-development-process activities, requirements, design reviews, BOM updates, ECOs, PLM releases, and contract-manufacturer builds.
• Execute functional testing, investigate laboratory issues, support EMC/EMI debugging, and implement corrective design changes.
• Collaborate with mechanical, firmware, test, manufacturing, operations, and supply-chain teams while providing informal guidance to less experienced colleagues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 2 years of electrical design experience, or equivalent demonstrated capability.
• Working knowledge of Altium schematic capture and PCB layout, or equivalent ECAD tools with willingness to learn Altium.
• Experience with electronics for automation, robotics, automotive, or similar embedded systems.
• Working knowledge of EMC/EMI fundamentals, including grounding, filtering, return paths, and layout practices.
• Ability to follow formal product-development and phase-gate processes, apply DfX, and collaborate across engineering and manufacturing functions.
