2027 Summer Intern, Data Analytics

Location: Hybrid two days per week in Reston, Virginia, or flexible remote work from anywhere in the United States. U.S. citizenship or permanent work authorization is required. Relocation and housing assistance are not available.

Salary: $23/hour for undergraduate interns or $28/hour for graduate interns. The posting also lists a full-time pay range of $37,855–$77,869.

What you will do

• Gather business questions and clarify reporting requirements.
• Query, clean, validate, and analyze data from enterprise systems.
• Identify trends, patterns, risks, and opportunities in datasets.
• Develop dashboards, visualizations, and analytical reports.
• Define and document metrics, assumptions, and data sources.
• Communicate and present findings, insights, and recommendations to stakeholders.

Requirements

• Complete at least 30 college credit hours in data analytics, statistics, economics, business analytics, computer science, mathematics, information systems, or a related field.
• U.S. citizenship or permanent work authorization is required.
• Ability to collaborate with analysts, engineers, business stakeholders, and technical and nontechnical colleagues.
• Strong critical-thinking, communication, storytelling, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement in Reston, Virginia or remotely from within the United States.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree or enrollment in a relevant master’s program.
• Experience with data modeling, SQL, data analysis, Python, R, Excel, statistical analysis, or data visualization.
• Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
• Knowledge of data quality, KPI development, experimentation, or forecasting.
• Experience from coursework, research, case competitions, personal projects, or internships.
