Project Engineer (Industrial Gases)

Location: Houston, TX, United States; onsite plant and project work with up to 40% travel.

What you will do

• Coordinate project planning, scheduling, scope definition, engineering design, budgeting, cost control, quality assurance, and risk mitigation.
• Develop project scopes, technical proposals, P&IDs, mechanical layouts, electrical and instrumentation diagrams, and equipment specifications.
• Configure or coordinate PLC systems and prepare engineering packages, RFQs, cost estimates, and vendor documentation.
• Execute projects through design reviews, hazard analyses, management of change, pre-startup safety reviews, procedures, operator training, and regulatory compliance.
• Procure equipment and coordinate construction, installation, testing, commissioning, and startup activities.
• Report on safety, budget, schedule, and quality while coordinating with operations, maintenance, engineering, suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

• Technical bachelor's degree required; chemical or mechanical engineering preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of engineering and project management experience in a gas or chemical manufacturing business.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, operations, controls, and PLCs used with process equipment.
• Ability to apply relevant codes and standards, including ANSI, ASME, NFPA, and CGA.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Word.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, communicate effectively, and advance projects with minimal supervision.
