Safety Coordinator (Construction Safety)

Location: Washington, D.C., and Chantilly, Virginia, United States; work takes place in offices and active construction jobsites, with travel between job sites and occasional overnight travel.

Salary: $57,536–$86,304 per year.

What you will do

• Support the implementation of safety programs, policies, and procedures across assigned construction projects.
• Conduct and support jobsite audits, inspections, hazard identification, and compliance monitoring.
• Maintain safety reports, logs, inspection records, incident documentation, and safety metrics.
• Support PPE enforcement and escalate unsafe conditions or behaviors to safety leadership.
• Coordinate safety orientations, training sessions, toolbox talks, meetings, and project kickoffs.
• Promote safe work practices and communicate with employees, contractors, Safety Specialists, and Safety Managers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, construction management, or a related field preferred; equivalent training and industry experience may be considered.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification required, or the ability to obtain it within the defined timeframe.
• Basic understanding of construction safety practices and regulations, with the ability to identify hazards and follow established procedures.
• Experience supporting safety audits, inspections, or reporting and familiarity with construction jobsites preferred.
• Strong communication, teamwork, collaboration, and field-work skills.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; employment eligibility will be verified. Valid driver’s license required.
