Safety Specialist I or II

Location: Glen Allen, Virginia; onsite work at company-designated office or field locations throughout the assigned project area, with travel to job sites required.

Salary: $75,000–$110,000 per year, paid weekly.

What you will do

• Conduct site visits, document safety behaviors and working conditions, and perform field safety observations and PPE hazard assessments.
• Coordinate with Operations to create site-specific safety plans and participate in project kickoff, progress, and safety meetings.
• Support compliance with client requirements, OSHA standards, and local, state, and federal environmental and occupational safety regulations.
• Coach project personnel and coordinate required orientations, refresher training, customer training, and corrective-action training.
• Investigate accidents and injuries, perform root cause analyses, and support incident case management and documentation.
• Track corrective actions and support safety committees through performance trend analysis and process improvements.

Requirements

• At least two years of experience in environmental, health, and safety roles.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA and industry safety regulations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to travel for extended periods for job-site visits and work independently with field and operations teams.

Nice to have

• Safety certification such as CSHO, CHST, SMS, SSH, or CSP.
• Undergraduate degree in Safety Management or a related field.
