Senior Business Analyst (Contract) (Hybrid)

Location: Markham, Ontario, Canada; hybrid work arrangement with in-person interviews required

Salary: CAD 55.00–65.00 per hour

What you will do

• Gather, analyze, and document business, functional, and non-functional requirements for internal and external clients.
• Lead client onboarding, product implementation, and support for business applications with complex integrations.
• Define business objectives, scope statements, data mappings, file transformations, process flows, user cases, and user stories.
• Perform gap analysis, investigate system and data issues, identify root causes, and propose functional solutions.
• Coordinate Product, Development, QA, partners, and other stakeholders across Agile and Waterfall SDLC phases.
• Review test plans and outputs, report project risks, and coach junior Business Analysts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Finance, Business, or equivalent education and experience.
• 5–7 years of business analysis experience in a technical environment using Agile or Waterfall methodologies.
• Experience with tax reporting or tax-related service solutions and client implementation projects.
• Experience gathering requirements from external clients and working with complex projects, relational databases, or data warehouses.
• Strong SQL skills, including Oracle SQL Developer, PL/SQL, Oracle, or MS Access, plus knowledge of fixed-length, XML, CSV, and JSON formats.
• Strong communication, analytical, documentation, teamwork, project management, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Business Analysis certification or CBAP certification.
• Experience as a subject matter expert, consultant, or lead Business Analyst on large projects.
• Previous experience in the financial or print industry.
