Facilities Maintenance Technician

Location: Rochester Innovation Center, Rochester, United States; onsite

Pay rate: $23.50–$34.00 per hour

hirify.global develops hydrogen and fuel cell solutions and operates industrial facilities requiring building and infrastructure maintenance.

What you will do

• Inspect buildings, grounds, common areas, and facility systems for maintenance needs and safety concerns.
• Perform repairs involving building components, plumbing, electrical fixtures, painting, patching, carpentry, and workspace setups.
• Maintain exterior areas, parking lots, sidewalks, entrances, fencing, signage, and outdoor lighting.
• Complete scheduled preventive maintenance for building systems and HVAC equipment, and maintain work orders and inspection records.
• Coordinate vendors, contractors, and service providers for HVAC, pest control, cleaning, waste removal, and repairs.
• Support safety compliance, emergency response, inventory management, facility improvements, and workspace modifications.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; technical training, apprenticeship, or trade certification is preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in building maintenance, facilities operations, property maintenance, construction, or a related field.
• Experience coordinating vendors, contractors, and third-party service providers.
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection, life safety, security, and general mechanical systems.
• Proficiency with computerized maintenance management systems, work order systems, and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds; work indoors and outdoors, at heights, and around varying environmental conditions.

Nice to have

• Experience with preventive maintenance programs and facility asset management.
• Experience supporting commercial, manufacturing, industrial, or multi-building facilities.
• Trade certification or apprenticeship training.
