Senior Manager - Compliance Governance (Fintech)

Location: San Francisco, CA; New York, NY; Portland, OR; or remote within the United States

Salary: $199,900–$249,900 USD for employees in New York City, Los Angeles, Seattle, or the San Francisco Bay Area; $179,900–$224,900 USD for employees elsewhere in the United States.

What you will do

• Lead and develop the Compliance Governance team, set priorities, and build team capabilities.
• Own compliance risk assessment methodology and execution, aligned with the enterprise risk framework.
• Govern the enterprise policy lifecycle, standards, ownership, and compliance training curriculum.
• Oversee compliance issues management, including identification, remediation, and validation with Enterprise Risk Management.
• Design compliance reporting for executive leadership and governance committees and support regulatory examinations and audits.
• Use technology and automation to make governance programs scalable, measurable, and less manual.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in compliance or risk management at a fintech, bank, or other regulated financial institution, including 3+ years leading teams.
• Hands-on ownership of core Compliance Management System components, such as risk assessment, policy governance, training, reporting, or issues management.
• Experience leading or supporting regulatory examinations, managing examiner requests, and responding to findings.
• Broad knowledge of banking regulations, including consumer protection and BSA/AML.
• Experience presenting compliance programs to executive leadership, Board committees, banking partners, and regulators.
• Strong understanding of 1LOD/2LOD roles, excellent communication skills, and proficiency with AI tools or willingness to develop that proficiency.

Nice to have

• CRCM or comparable compliance certification.
• Familiarity with enterprise and operational risk management frameworks.
• Experience with GRC platforms and compliance automation.
