Software Engineer II (.NET/C#)

Location: On-site at the hirify.global Toronto office in Canada

What you will do

• Develop new features and enhancements for distributed web applications with minimal supervision.
• Design, build, and consume RESTful services, APIs, and third-party integrations.
• Fix moderately complex bugs, debug systems, and deliver medium-level refactoring.
• Implement unit and integration testing and contribute to secure software development practices.
• Review code, prepare technical documentation, and present technical knowledge to the team.
• Participate in Agile planning, peer reviews, release preparation, estimation, and prioritization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 4 years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years in distributed web application development.
• Strong hands-on experience with C# and .NET/.NET Core, including RESTful services and APIs.
• Experience with Azure or an equivalent cloud provider, Git, CI/CD pipelines, deployment methodologies, and Agile development.
• Knowledge of relational databases, microservices, APIs, queues, topics, caches, containers, serverless systems, and integration architectures.
• Must be legally allowed to work in Canada for any employer; this role is not sponsorship eligible.

Nice to have

• Experience in corporate travel, booking engines, or expense management platforms.
• Experience using AI coding assistants, models, or developer workflow tools.
• Experience with data processing, data engineering, or AI/ML service integrations.
• Exposure to Docker or Kubernetes.
