Senior Software Engineer - AI/ML (AI/ML)

Location: Remote within Canada, with optional in-office collaboration on Wednesdays in Vancouver. Final candidates may be required to attend an in-person interview at the Vancouver facilities.

Salary: CAD 120,000–145,000 per year, plus bonus eligibility.

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate predictive analytics products using AI and machine learning.
• Develop applications for sensor anomaly detection, digital twins of water treatment plants, and LLM-powered agents that synthesize water data.
• Own features end to end, including requirements, technical design, implementation, code review, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting.
• Build scalable cloud-native services on AWS and Azure using microservices architectures.
• Write frontend code with Angular and backend code with C# and improve development infrastructure, build systems, and test frameworks.
• Promote AI-assisted software development while following AI governance practices and improving productivity, quality, and team health.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience designing, building, and operating large-scale, data-intensive, cloud-native applications.
• Experience with AWS or Azure and microservices architectures.
• Experience with modern frontend frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue, plus strong Microsoft development experience with .NET and C#.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
• Hands-on experience with agentic engineering, AI-assisted development workflows, and a genuine interest in using AI to accelerate software development.

Nice to have

• Database design and development experience with SQL, Oracle, or PostgreSQL.
• Background in environmental science, time series data, IoT, or industrial controls.
• Exposure to data science or machine learning concepts.
• Experience leading and mentoring junior developers.
