Health, Safety and Environmental Plant Manager

Location: Aberdeen, Maryland, USA; on-site

Salary: $91,200–$210,000 annually, depending on U.S. labor-cost zone, experience, skills, and location.

What you will do

• Lead the site HSE strategy and build a proactive Zero Loss culture through continuous improvement and employee engagement.
• Oversee environmental, health, and safety programs covering OSHA, EPA, federal, state, local, and company requirements.
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, corrective actions, risk assessments, audits, and HSE performance reporting.
• Manage environmental sustainability initiatives, including waste reduction, resource conservation, and Zero Waste to Landfill objectives.
• Serve as the site contact for regulatory agencies, inspections, audits, permits, and reporting.
• Partner with operations, engineering, and maintenance on safe production, capital projects, equipment installation, and startup activities.

Requirements

• 7+ years of progressive HSE/EHS leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Expertise in environmental compliance, including air emissions, water systems, hazardous waste, permitting, and regulatory reporting.
• Experience leading complex incident investigations, root cause analysis, and sustainable corrective actions.
• Background in environmental stewardship, sustainability, waste reduction, and continuous improvement.
• Experience partnering with operations and engineering on capital projects, risk assessments, and regulatory compliance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field preferred.

Nice to have

• Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification strongly preferred.
• Certified Waste Management Professional (CWMP) or Institute of Hazardous Materials Management (IHMM) certification.
