Environmental Manager

Location: US - NJ - Deepwater; the role supports Chambers Works, Parlin, and Elkton and is based at Deepwater, New Jersey.

Annual pay range: $141,120–$220,500 USD, plus a 16% annual bonus target.

What you will do

• Lead environmental programs and provide technical guidance to site operations, technical, and maintenance personnel.
• Manage compliance with Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, NJPDES, SPCC/DPCC, stormwater, groundwater, waste, and other environmental requirements.
• Oversee air emissions programs, LDAR, refrigeration management, greenhouse gas reporting, and environmental impact assessments.
• Prepare regulatory and sustainability reports, including SARA 312/313, Title V, MACT, air emissions, hazardous waste, CERCLA, NPDES DMR, and greenhouse gas submissions.
• Lead agency interactions, audits, permit applications and renewals, regulatory applicability determinations, and environmental incident investigations.
• Manage TCPA and EPA Risk Management Plan programs and implement improvements to prevent recurring environmental events.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, preferably chemical engineering, environmental engineering, environmental science, or a related field.
• 5–7 years of environmental experience in the manufacturing industry.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to drive results in ambiguous situations.
• Experience or expertise in air and water regulatory compliance, hazardous and solid waste management, permitting, and environmental reporting.
• Ability to interpret complex regulations, manage multiple priorities, influence stakeholders, and work with regulatory agencies.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.

Nice to have

• Six Sigma or Lean Continuous Improvement certification.
• Knowledge of RCMS and RC14001 requirements.
• Experience with New Jersey and Maryland environmental regulations.
• Experience preparing air permits, including Minor NSR and Title V permits, and waste characterization evaluations.
• Experience providing environmental guidance during emergency situations and release response.
