Manager, Environmental Health and Safety

Location: San Marcos, California, and Santa Ana, California; regular travel throughout the assigned area and periodically across the West Region is required.

Salary: $100,000–$120,000 annually, plus a 10% bonus.

What you will do

• Partner with operations leaders to integrate environmental health and safety into daily decisions and operating processes.
• Provide EHS guidance across production and filling plants, branches, distribution operations, and other specialized facilities.
• Conduct field visits, observations, assessments, and leadership engagements to identify hazards and operational risks.
• Lead or support investigations of injuries, vehicle incidents, property damage, releases, fires, near misses, and other significant events.
• Monitor safety and compliance performance, develop risk-reduction strategies, and verify corrective and preventive actions.
• Deliver safety communications, training, stand-downs, and engagement activities while supporting regulatory inspections and audits.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, environmental health and safety, industrial hygiene, engineering, environmental science, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Professional experience in environmental, health, safety, transportation, manufacturing, distribution, or industrial operations.
• Working knowledge of OSHA, Cal/OSHA, DOT, EPA, and applicable state and local EHS regulations.
• Experience investigating incidents, evaluating risk, identifying root and contributing causes, and developing corrective actions.
• Strong leadership, communication, coaching, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence leaders and frontline associates.
• Valid driver’s license and valid U.S. employment authorization are required; visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Previous EHS leadership or people-management experience.
• Multi-site manufacturing, distribution, transportation, chemical, or industrial gas experience.
• DOT/FMCSA transportation safety and hazardous materials experience.
• CSP, ASP, CHMM, CIH, or equivalent professional certification.
• Experience with California-specific environmental and occupational safety requirements.
